GENERAL PLASTER WORK
JEM carry out ornamentation and constructive plastering work. We apply a layer of plaster generally on a ‘dot and dabbed’ plasterboard backing  which creates a smooth & seamless finish for your choice of painting or wallpapering.
 
SKIMMING
Skimming is part of our plastering key skills and is generally a process of plastering that covers poor wall/plastering surfaces to wall or ceilings creating the smooth base for a wallpaper or paint finish.
 
ARTEX COVERING
We can plaster over an Artex ceiling. We ensure there are no loose or flaking sections of Artex as it is this that can create airborne asbestos particles.
 
PLASTERBOARDING
Also known as wall board, gypsum board, drywall etc, plaster board is used as the initial base substrate mostly on ceilings and walls. There are a few different manufacturers/suppliers in the UK and it can come in different depths, there is a fireproof version and also an insulated plasterboard which has a thermal layer attached for added heat retention.​
